Let there be no mistake about who is the best tenniser of Tokyo. The Russian title defender trounched Mashona Washington of the USA: 6-0 6-1
Within one hour Maria won the match, wich is pretty surprising for a final.
Maria: "I knew that i had to set the pace. Mashona is a good player and I knew I had to be ready."
It was the second win in less than a week for the 17-year-old Russian, who captured the Korea Open last Sunday.

Maria: "Last year was my first final so I was a bit nervous. It was a little more exciting last year because it went a full three sets but it's also a great feeling to defend your title."
Maria was the one who was a little disappointed since her name wasn't on the championship trophy.
Maria: "They haven't updated this," she said. "The last name on it is Monica Seles in 2001, I mean come on, it's the 21st century."
Congratulations girl!
