Maria Sharapova is through to the semi-finals in Dubai after she defeated Martina Hingis of Switzerland who beat Maria earlier this month in Tokyo with the same score. 6-3 6-4
In the semis to be played in a few hours Maria will play #2 seed and defending champion Lindsay Davenport of the United States, Maria leads the series 3-1 having won their last meeting at the WTA Championships late last year.
