Maria Sharapova to Join Istanbul Tennis Cup

Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova will come to Istanbul for the WTA Istanbul Cup Tennis Tournament. WTA Istanbul Cup board member Coskun Erginer disclosed that instead of American Lindsay Davenport, Sharapova would be coming to Istanbul. This will be Maria's 1st appearance on red clay this year and her 1st appearance in Turkey.

The Istanbul Cup will be held on 22 May 2005.
