Second seed Maria Sharapova cruised past Russian Vera Zvonareva 6-4 6-4 and will next face champion Mary Pierce.
An impressive win for Maria over a player who has won 2 titles in the last 2 months and has beaten Maria before.

Pierce, the sixth seed and defending champion, beat Finland's Emma Laine 6-2 6-1. Maria has played Pierce 3 times before and leads the series 2-1.

she was 5 sets to one in second set and somehow zvonareva come to close to her 5-4 she is having big prolemmes finishing a match and if pierce it's not a probllem clijsters will be still it's nice seeing her in action again the outfit is........go on masha!!
