Most likely candidate to win Wimbledon?

Maria will not compte in Beijing
Posted by: Senia

After Maria pulled out of Montreal we were already affraid of it, but now it is official. Maria will not be playing the olympic games, which start late next week. On her official website she wrote a couple of words to explain what is exactly her injury. Here is what she had to say.

MARIA SHARAPOVA
After yesterdays match I knew there was something seriously wrong with my shoulder. After taking a few different exams and MRI's this morning, the doctors found two small tears in the tendons of my shoulder. There are so many mixed feelings because last night they were almost positive there was something wrong with my nerve which could have ultimately been much more serious but after the tests this morning, for the first time in a while, they were able to give me a different answer and a different problem. But on the other hand this is something that needs a lot of time to heal, which really hurts me to say that I have to miss the Olympics.
I'm currently packing up really quick to hop on the plane and head to NY for a second opinion but I wanted to let all of you know first that there's no chance of me competing in Beijing. The timing is so unfortunate and this makes me more sad than anything.
I will keep everyone updated once I get a clear picture of what the next plan is...

We are all very sad to hear that Maria is not able to play the olympics. Especially since it was a big dream of her. We wish her all the best, and hope that she will be ready to play soon!

wish maria a quick recovery with no complications. if the other players want to help her out and cut down on injuries at the same time, why don't they propose underhand serving for tennis like in softball?

As the saying goes - "A wounded gladiator and fighter will take the time to heal and rest. When he comes back he will be a more tougher and a battle ready competitor!" That's our Maria Sharapova!

I can't believe that she have played with her shoulder injury since April.

And she need to recover for 2-3 months, that means she will miss the US Open too..

But I will support you forever!!! Get well soon, Masha!!!
