Due to my summer holiday I haven't been able to update you guys on the Los Angelos tournament. Maria reached the semi finals, which ofcourse is a great achievement!
Today the new rankings were released and Maria is now #49 with 1170 points. By reaching the semi's in LA she gained 200 points and 12 spots up the rankings. Maria is currently on spot #34 on the Race to the Sony Ericsson Championships rankings.
The next tournament Maria will attend is the Rogers Cup, in Toronto, starting next monday.

come on maria get back to #1 where you so rightfully belong you are the best a total total total legend love to watch you play have done from you winning wimbledon 2004 and five years seems like forever but its not good luck for rogers cup and u s open. SHARAPOVA IS THE BEST.

Y u can't reach the final of the tournaments? do u know when u lost to some opponents, how are ur fans sad. They want to see u held on the champions all every courts. If you don't know tonight Masha is gonna play against Petrova (10) at the first round in Toronto then probably against Chakvetadze (who was 6-4 4-5 against Bammer last time that I saw) at the third she should play against Zvonareva then against Venus in the semi against one among Safina Jankovic or Azarenka and if only in the Final against Serena anyway good job Masha I'm so happy cause your back in the top 50!! C'mon you can win in Toronto in Flushing Meadows and you can go to Doha at the Wta Championships!! Masha show to everybody who is the #1!! Good luck 4 your match!! God Bless U!
