Maria beat No. 1 seeded Elena Dementieva 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 in the Swisscom Challenge semifinals and extended her winning streak to 12 matches.

Maria moves into her fifth final of the year where she will play either Patty Schnyder of Swiss or Alicia Molik of Australia.



It is almost certain that Maria will qualify for the WTA Tour championships in Los Angeles next month which carry a one million dollar winner's prize.



The match lasted 118 minutes

No problems at all for Maria as she crushed Venus Williams 3-6, 4-6 today in 75 minutes in her second match in Zurich, she will play her next match against first seeded Elena Dementieva of Russia.


Maria was playing with supreme confidence, it's amazing to se here growing in this tournament.


Dementieva, Marias opponent for tomorrow, won earlier today from Ai Sugiyama of Japan in 3 sets: 6:1 5:7 7:5
